This session is designed to teach proper body contact for Bantam age players. Participants will learn how to safely give and receive a body check in open ice situations, and along the boards.

Our staff will instruct on the proper techniques, including:

  • angling through the stick and hands to properly separate their opponent from the puck
  • body positioning and proper balance while delivering body contact
  • when body contact is necessary and when it's not
  • protection along the boards in danger areas (5 foot rule)
  • contact with confidence regardless of size or strength.

** All participants will be required to meet in the parking lot 45 mins prior to the start of the session for a introduction to body contact before dressing for the on ice portion of the class. The entire training session will be 105 mins, with dressing time.**
